The atlas glides which ever way the occiput goes
When side bending, the atlas rotates the other way to keep the eyes on the horizon
50% of motion approximately comes from C1 and C2
If rotation is lost, don’t forget to check the “lateral glide” of atlas on axis
Most sagittal plane motions occurs at OA joint
Patient’s will usually lack rotation one way and side bending the other way with AROM screening
